Obvious Child is a progressive romantic comedy which centers on the protagonist’s choice to terminate an unexpected pregnancy. Obvious Child has received rave reviews from feminist publications such as Bitch Media and RH Reality CheckThe screening of the film will be followed by a 30 minute panel discussion on the film’s themes and how they apply to people who may become pregnant in Maine and across the U.S.

She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry is a recent documentary about the second wave of U.S. feminism during the 1960s and 1970s. The Portland Museum of Art’s website describes it as “informative, inspiring, and anger-inducing, the film looks at feminism’s past, present, and future, and the amount of work the women accomplished along with the amount of scorn they received”.
